PATRICIA WAFY — KĀ FLOOR PILATES
move for children — fondation ART-THÉRAPIE
sunday 22 november — 12:00
a sunday that counts twice.
World Children’s Day falls on 20 november, and we wanted to mark it properly.
On the sunday 22, Patricia teaches a floor pilates class at noon — and half of everything we take that day goes to the Fondation ART-THÉRAPIE, which brings art and music therapy to children in hospital across Switzerland.
A studio is a room where people turn up for themselves. That’s a good enough reason most weeks, and it’s most of why this one exists.
But a room full of people all moving at the same time on a sunday is also something you can point in a direction. For one hour in november, we’d like to point it at a few hundred children who are having a much harder month than we are.
Come and move. It’s the easiest good thing you’ll do all week.
THE CLASS
Fifty minutes on the mat with Patricia — floor pilates, no machine, no props to hide behind. Slow enough to feel every repetition, long enough to mean it. All levels: you set the intensity, Patricia sets the pace.
Mats and props provided.
Bring whoever you’d like to bring — this is a good one to come to with someone.
sunday 22 november, 12:00 / 50 minutes, floor pilates, all levels — with Patricia / CHF 40.- half donated to the Fondation ART-THÉRAPIE.
THE FOUNDATION
ART-THÉRAPIE is a Geneva foundation, based on rue de Beaumont, a few streets from here.
It brings artists and music therapists into Swiss hospitals — to premature babies and their families first, then to children, teenagers and young adults on the wards. An instrument, a set of materials, someone to make something with.
In a place where almost everything about the day is decided for you, it gives a child back the one thing that’s entirely theirs.
